It’s official Sunshiners, thanks to the snow we received this week, we at Banff Sunshine Village will open for the 2020/21 Ski and Snowboard season on Monday, November 9th. Our team is extremely excited to welcome you back to carve up Canada’s Best Snow as you enjoy the beauty of the Canadian Rockies.

When should I arrive at Sunshine Village?

If you are looking to skip the gondola line, we recommend arriving after noon. Typically, our gondola line clears up by 11 am. Midweek skiing is always less busy. Together, we believe we can bend the curve and reduce the spread of Covid 19.

Do you need a reservation to ski at Sunshine Village?

While we will not require reservations for access to the slopes, we recommend all guests to arrive with their season pass, Sunshine Super Card, Mobile Lift Ticket, or Pre-Paid Lift Ticket. On the mountain, pick up your season pass at Guest Services.

Is Sunshine Village good for beginners?

Almost the entire Sunshine Village ski resort is very well suited for beginners (excluding Goat’s Eye Mountain). There is a beginner area with a people mover right at the mountain station of the gondola lift. There are easy and very easy slopes everywhere.

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, effective April 1st, 2021, we at Banff Sunshine Village have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our BC border to skiers and snowboards who are not BC residents.

Our recommendation is to camp at Tunnel Mountain Village II – the only spot for winter camping in Banff area.
